The Birds

I put aside the background (again). Feathering the birds has offered me a number of decisions. As I've chosen to work with the materials at hand I went back into my bins and pulled out old textures and materials, tweeds, plaids and synthetics, all those fibres I used on bears and other furry mammals.

I thought I'd make the feathers.......

Even after I spent a lot of time trying different fabric combinations, it just wasn't talking to me.

So I decided to let the fabrics do all the work .

Then I used the materials themselves The remaining details can be stitched.
