I don't usually let the cat out of the bag as I've been know to abandon ideas if I'm unhappy.
But this time I think I'm good to go.
Working these things through, the image, the materials and the process take up a lot of time and effort....and sleep. Though going for a walk helps as well.

I think it will work here very well.
Cartooning the faces will be done as thread painting and the rest of the body (tree) will be yarn.
I googled Rackham and realized why the characters in the tree are so appealing and seemed familiar🙂 I love his illustrations in Peter Pan and other favourites, and that age of children's literature was my area of focus oh so many years ago😄 Fantastic choice!
